"CAO Yingbin: All the World's a Stage" is a micro-retrospective exhibition of artist CAO Yingbin (born 1971), structured along a clear curatorial trajectory that presents works spanning over two decades. Curated by YANG Tiange, the exhibition is presented at TC101 SPACE, University Arts Centre of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. "CAO Yingbin: All the World's a Stage" shows the artist's depictions of the vast world and its myriad inhabitants, the cultural traces of secular life and spiritual world, and the connections and ruptures between them, while examining and reflecting on the current heterogeneous and intricate cultural reality.“

CAO Yingbin

Born in 1971 in Kaifeng, Henan, now lives in Zhengzhou, Henan.

About the Curator

YANG Tiange

YANG Tiange is a Beijing-based curator and art historian. He is enrolled in a Ph.D. in art history at Peking University. He has curated group exhibitions such as "Leisure of Auteur and Amateur", "How Many Times, I Have Left My Everyday Life", "Diving Deep for Light into Darkness", "Collaboration, Not for Perfection, but for Contamination", "Buddhist Youths: United Collective Indifference" and "There are Volcanoes Under the Sea" at venues like Cloud Art Museum, 69 ART CAMPUS, Beiqiu Museum of Contemporary Art, Hua International, Goethe-Institut, and Inside-Out Art Museum. He has also organised numerous solo exhibitions for many artists. He is the inaugural awardee in the Chinese contemporary art writing category of the New Century Art Foundation's "Mo Yuan: Art History Research and Critical Writing Grants". He has long focused on Chinese art from the 20th century onward and international contemporary art. Recently, his research has centred on the issues of body, identity, and the construction of national forms from a humanistic geographical perspective.
